Supply Chain Event: Covid-19 Pandemic Quiz by WHO SEARO/Empower School of Health
The Emergency Outbreak Response Supply Chain Platform jointly developed by WHO SEARO, GOARN and Empower School of Health was launched in early February 2021. Today, the platform has a community of over 800 supply chain professionals who are directly or indirectly associated with the Covid-19 pandemic response in their countries. The platform and all its features are free for all its members from across the Southeast Asia Region (SEAR) countries and beyond. It provides several benefits to its members:
- COVID-19 pandemic response and emergency supply chain courses including a free course on managing supply chains in pandemic situations.
- Dozens of curated and practical knowledge resources in the form of articles, reports, tools etc.
- Discussion forums and chats to interact, collaborate and cross-learn with the community members on the platform.
- Access to supply chain and pandemic response experts for advice and technical assistance to solve real-world problems.
- Regular events for further learning and collaboration with the community.
One such upcoming event is the Pandemic Quiz on 21st September 2021 between 1:30 to 2:30 PM IST.
This is a unique and innovative event and the first of its kind ever organised, anywhere. The objective of the quiz is to bring awareness and learning in the pandemic response community about key facts and knowledge elements with regards to the pandemic response including the supply chain. The quiz is open to all current members of the platform and people interested in joining this event can register here. Although the quiz is open to everyone, people from the 11 SEAR countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, DPR Korea, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Timor-Leste) will find it more topical. The intention of the quiz is to generate maximum participation and interactivity with the audience. Everyone that joins will be able to participate. The quiz will be conducted virtually through Zoom over 3 rounds. Prof. Andy Barraclough will be the quiz master. He has more than 30 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management and has tackled many epidemics and managed their supply chains in his international career.
The winner and the four runners-up will all receive exciting prizes as well as certificates endorsed by WHO SEARO/GOARN/Empower School of Health. This is a great opportunity for supply chain professionals working in SEAR countries to build their network within the public health space, test their supply chain knowledge, and win prizes as well.
