BACKGROUND

New policies and products are continuously being introduced into government programs and into the private sector. This information needs to reach millions of people who are working in the health, education, nutrition, water and sanitation and other sectors across India. Traditional approaches of face-to-face training alone are not sufficient to meet today’s demands. New digital technologies and increased connectivity now allow for continuous and customized access to learning materials to the remotest parts of the country. And of course, Covid-19 has pushed many countries to migrate towards online learning as a solution.

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP

The objectives of this event were to:

  • Catalyze a dialogue for introduction of new policies and strategies to accelerate digital learning and knowledge transfer
  • Support the modernizing of the training process from traditional face-to-face to sustainable and scalable digital learning
  • Leverage private sector capacity, and government systems (e.g. NIC, IGOT) to reach across India, with a special focus on promoting access and equity
  • Bring together a community of professionals from public-private sector, and from India-global, who develop and/or use digital learning tools
